Where will Oxford Brookes take you?

With a wide range of courses, award-winning lecturers and cutting-edge facilities, Oxford Brookes helps its students achieve more. We want our students to get the most out of their learning by putting theory directly into practice in the real world - that’s why we build workplace skills into our courses, maximising the opportunities available to them through strong links with industry.

Enhancing your employability

At Brookes, whichever subject you study, you'll have the opportunity to try new things and to find out more about your strengths and skills. That will help to shape your thinking about your career beyond your studies.

Courses are designed to help students build the skills employers want, and there are plenty of other ways to expand your work experience. On many courses you can spend up to a year in the workplace, honing your skills in a relevant setting – Oxford Brookes has strong links with a huge range of employers from top engineering firms and prestigious hotel groups to frontline healthcare services.

Our student experience is rich in opportunities to go beyond the classroom: whether it’s volunteering, social enterprise, work placements or studying abroad, there are plenty of ways to enhance your CV during your time at Brookes.

Teaching that lights a spark

Many of our lecturers are internationally recognised for what they bring to their field. Many of our lecturers have real-world expertise within their profession or industry which gives you access to the latest thinking.

And you'll find their desire to expand the way you think, and to enable you to give your best, is second to none. In fact, in the last six years, Brookes lecturers have been awarded eight National Teaching Fellowships for outstanding teaching.

Inspirational learning spaces

The new John Henry Brookes Building on our Headington campus opened in 2014. It is home to a brand new library, dedicated social learning spaces and state-of-the-art teaching facilities. Our extensive library houses 25 special collections unique to Oxford Brookes - including the Booker Prize Archive. Alongside these shared resources, we also offer excellent specialist facilities for subjects like architecture, engineering and health.

The investment in our campuses doesn’t stop there: over the next 10 years, we’ll be spending a further £130 million to ensure that our students enjoy the very best learning facilities during their time at Brookes.
